Nancy Pelosi Initiates Impeachment Inquiry
for Ramapo News
The time has finally come.
House speaker Nancy Pelosi initiated the impeachment inquiry after President Trump was anonymously accused of pressuring international leaders to investigate Joe Biden, former vice president and current 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
Trump’s response: a simple hectic tweet, expectedly; “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!”
Pelosi announced on Sept. 24 that an official impeachment inquiry would be handled by the six committees of the House of Representatives.
“The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the Constitution,” Pelosi said in her formal announcement. She added that Trump “must be held accountable — no one is above the law.”
Pelosi has waited for the perfect moment to publicly reveal that these investigations will be taking place, considering that the 2020 presidential debates are soon to come.
During the official announcement, Pelosi accused Trump of many unethical and lawless antics including “betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections.”
A few days later, Pelosi claimed in a private conference call that three of the House committees will be investigating whether or not Trump is guilty of abusing his power.
All of Pelosi’s statements are completely justifiable when considering the illegal and unethical actions of the president.
The initial whistleblower claimed that Trump alongside other top government employees were coercing foreign leaders to abide by their commands if they want assistance. This included a command to investigate Joe Biden and his family.
The complaint was released to the public mere days after the announcement of the impeachment inquiry took place. A week later, another complaint was made by a different associate. The whistleblower in this case was personally involved with the controversial phone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The controversy was proven after the release of the printed dialogue regarding a phone conversation between Trump and the President of Ukraine. Trump released the phone call on his own terms, yet it proves suspicious activity and hints of pressuring the foreign President to hypothetically have America’s back.
Trump’s response to the impeachment inquiry can be seen in multiple tweets on his Twitter account, one of which claiming that it is outshining the positive efforts he has been contributing.
“Such an important day at the United Nations, so much work and so much success, and the Democrats purposely had to ruin and demean it with more breaking news Witch Hunt garbage,” Trump said in another tweet. “So bad for our Country!”
Trump claims that the impeachment inquiry is an issue of the political party division in America. However, that does not seem to be the case at all.
Pelosi would have declared the impeachment inquiry months ago if it was solely based on opinion, but there is factual evidence that the president has unlawfully committed a felony to benefit his next campaign.
The impeachment inquiry does not promise a guaranteed impeachment or later removal of office for the president. However, it is safe to say that Pelosi and the House is well prepared with plenty of information in order to move forward in hopes to reach an outcome of impeachment.
