Arizona Law to Ban Social Justice and Race-Based College Course

Arizona Law to Ban Social Justice and Race-Based College Course

for Radical Report

A new bill have been placed on the table in Arizona that involves banning any college classes that consider concepts of “social justice, race theory” as well as killing off any rallys or events that “target specific nationalities.”

Republican Rep. Bob Thorpe claims that introducing this bill he proposed has no bad intentions. Although his plea includes public schools and charter schools, Arizona State University’s course on “Whiteness and Race Theory” was the inspiration for this bill.

Thorpe also states that these courses may have a grand affect on the white race, stating, “if you then look at an individual whose ancestors, because of their race, for example, they are linked to people that did something 100 or 200 years ago, that person who’s living today has little or no association with what happened 200 years ago… So let’s not have a wedge issue and cause that person to be vilified when they absolutely had nothing to do with some event that happened in the past.”

Responses go left to right on bill HB2120, some stating how this is censorship on education whereas others are curious whether or not students should be taking courses that are non-parallel with their major.

The full law is presented here.
